Participation awards are here to stay

We live in such a competitive world where the winner takes it all and the rest of the people are left standing there, forgetting that there are many other people beside the winner. The idea behind participation trophies is to simply tell the rest of the guys that look, you may not have made it to the podium yes, but at least you put in a lot of effort. These participation awards are not really meant to pacify the losers, but to appreciate that they actually made an effort togged where they did. Many times all the attention will go to the winner and the losers will simply fade away as if they never existed or even participated, it can be really down heartening.

This seems to work very well where especially youngsters are involved. The participation awards may seem to be meaningless but they do a great deal of good to those who get them, had they not been worthy they would not have made it to that level. Remember we give trophies and awards in order to encourage people to try harder next time especially those who were so close to getting the prize but then they failed. Children especially get so motivated when we tell them we're glad they participated and we don’t say it in plain words but use participation trophies.

In the game of life there is really more than winning that needs to be appreciated. Remember for there to be a winner someone else needs to have been there to play the winner and because they lost the winner was found. By awarding participation awards we are thanking the other team or opponent for being more courageous than the rest of the people who are satisfied with being mere spectators in the game. That way they will want to try next time because someone noted that they did a part even though they did not win.
