Broomball Trophies Awards Blog Submitted by admin on Tue, 10/21/2008 - 18:49 Broomball Trophies Follies I had the pleasure of seeing my first broomball game when I visited my friend Susan. She told me about this sport that is similar to hockey. It originated in Canada where she is from. The broomball trophies are really something to see. Broomball trophies come in many columns and heights. I watched these guys running around the ice, flipping the broom out in front of them to whack the ball into the net. It looks like a tiring sport and I have no idea how they get to the point of winning broomball trophies. They must be tenacious in order to win a broomball trophy. The team consists of six main players, the goalie and five others. The game is set up much like hockey in that two contenders go up against each other in the starting face off. They play for 2-3 periods before a winning team is announced to win the broomball trophy. I think in junior leagues they give all the winning teammates broomball trophies. The game is commonly known as curling in the United States. Broomball trophies are then called curling trophies. By any other name, they are still the same broomball trophies the Canadians know. I find it interesting that we have the same sports of everyone else, but the name changes. It all leads to winning that broomball trophy, and barring that, some sort of broomball awards. Broomball trophies are for a unique sport. I have never seen one like it. I suppose there are stranger sports than this, just none I have ever seen. It is interesting to see what teams place first and win the broomball trophy or whatever other broomball awards there are for that game. I had to laugh the first time I saw the net for this sport though. It is much smaller than a hockey goal and it made me wonder how they managed to win broomball trophies. Broomball awards ceremonies are quite an event too. Streamers and confetti were popping out everywhere. It was fun to watch them winning broomball trophies and broomball awards of all kinds. My friend Susan happened to know one of the players for the Canadian Ducks and I got to ask what it is like to win broomball trophies. Apparently it was really great, because none of the team members could quit smiling. They all had a hand on the broomball trophy with slight reverence. I ended my trip to Canada with a picture of Sue and me with the team and their broomball trophy. It was a night to remember and I still have that picture. Broomball trophies are testaments to that fact and I wait in anticipation to see my next broomball trophy win when I go to see Susan again. I love a good game and white knuckled experience of watching a dozen guys compete for a broomball trophy. I believe I will start planning a stay with Susan at a time when the games are in full swing and we can go see any number of players win broomball trophies. To be sure we will go to more than one game of this fabulous sport. I want to see so many of them winning broomball trophies.
