A TKO for Boxing Trophies

Boxing has become an American Pastime boxing trophies clutter trophy cases across the states. They are even worldwide. However, no country loves a good boxing match like this one. Since the days of Rocky, boxing has become a well-known sport. It is even part of the Olympics. Boxing trophies can be found in just about any city.

Yes, there are all manors of boxing trophies and even Olympic boxing medals for the medalists. It takes hard work and a lot of blood and sweat to win a boxing trophy. A boxer has to be quick on his feet and sharp of wit to feint from the vicious swings from his opponent. In the end the one left standing is the one that wins the boxing trophy. There are usually sure bet winners to every fight. Certain winners are consistent. They are the ones that have cases full ofboxing trophies.

The history of boxing is very interesting. The first boxing matches were done in bare-knuckle boxing style.  Also, known as fisticuffs and it dates back as far as ancient Greece. I wonder what they did for boxing awards back then. I would think that boxing medals would be most common, but the world was just starting then, so awards as we know them, in the form ofboxing trophies and the like weren’t common then.

Then in 1867 the rules changed when the ninth Marquess of Queensberry, John Sholto Douglas founded the gloved matches as we know them today. About that time they would have begun to form the boxing trophies we know today. Blacksmiths and other tradesmen that could work with the precious medals required to make boxing trophies would have done just that. I am also sure they had currency of the day as prime boxing awards.

A boxing trophy is not quite the culmination of the boxer’s career. They also compete for the fancy title belts. Boxing trophies are great stepping stones to that great honor of being known as the best in a boxer’s weight class. I have seen my share of boxing matches. They are complete edge of your seat action. Boxing trophies being handed out at the end of the sparring is part of the gratification of being a spectator. Even though you feel bad for the other guys, laying there in their own blood, you can’t help but feel happy for the ones that conquer and win the boxing trophies.

The only time you wouldn’t be happy for the winner is if you were betting on the other guy. Then the loss of boxing trophies is the least of your worries. All I can say is don’t bet everything you have on the dependence of one man beating up another. You might be surprised by the outcome; Fighting for that all important boxing trophies.
