Competing For Bird Trophies

To earn Birds Trophies, you must be fast, accurate and determined. The game of clay pigeon shooting has 20 different forms it is known for. Each has a different Trophy for its class. Birds Trophies are won by being H.O.A. (Highest Over All) after 4 single events, although I have seen where they go up to as far as 8, which means more opportunity for Birds Trophies.

Birds Trophies were introduced by John Dewar back on June 20, 1900, when the first competition took place. It was called a Trapshooting Trophy, but with time became Birds Trophy. The sport lasted through 1902 when the first one was awarded to the original winner, Dr. Ashley Webber. The first Birds Trophy was made of silver and valued at $3,000. It is rumored to have disappeared, since trap shooter historians haven’t heard of it. They are more familiar with the Birds Trophies of today.

The English Sporting division of clay pigeon shooting is the most recognized of the sport. It most simulates the old Birds Trophies competitions. The competitors are fierce as they wield the double barreled shotguns required; each opponent competes for the Birds Trophies, while shooting at Bolting Rabbits and Dropping Ducks. Targets are thrown in all directions, at varying speeds and sizes. I couldn’t imagine having the precision required to earn a Birds Trophy.

Birds Trophies are awarded the world over for this daunting, but fun sport. It can be played inside thanks to the invention of laser shooting. Birds Trophies can be won just about anywhere rain or shine. Most of the action goes on outdoors though in shooting ranges, where they practice to earn a Birds Trophy. That seems to be the case in England, Ireland, Belgium and the many other countries that participate in this sport and the winner in each division is proud of his birds trophy.

For enthusiasts the motivation to bring home that Birds Trophy is not the only reward. They love going out into the open field, taking aim and awaiting the rounds with anticipation. The sweet sound of clinks, pings and the release of the clay disk just adds to the triumph of attaining Birds Trophies. This sport has grabbed the attention of a multitude of people. Men, women, and even children can play in the laser shooting battles to bring home the prizes of birds trophies.. Every category gets its own Birds Trophy to hand out to patrons of the game. It is actually quite fun to see a woman beat out the men as far as points go. You would not believe how fierce the competition is in the women’s discipline. I think over time we will see even more women enter this field sport. It is so great to see women excel in a shooting sport and win their own Birds Trophies
